Assessment Methods |
Each student is required to compile a personal portfolio consisting of work completed in class and homework assignments. The portfolio is designed to serve as a measure of the students' progress on a course as well as a useful reference tool.
Mid-course and end-of-course oral assessments are conducted to see how the students' communicative skills have developed and to identify what still needs to be worked on. Oral assessment takes the form of a series of situational role-plays recorded on DVD. After the assessment, each student receives a DVD containing their role-plays along with detailed feedback form the foreign trainer regarding language areas that still need to be worked on.
Paper based assessments are used at the end of a course. The aim is to review all of the language strategies covered on a course and to see how well students have acquired the language they've been studying
